Pranayama and Meditation
Prana means “life force or breath sustaining the body”; Ayama translates as “to extend or draw out.” If you combine those two words, Prana yama, it describes the control and extension of our breath.
In order to combat fatigue, stress and all kinds of stress-related diseases, it is crucial to understand the benefits of correct breathing in our day-to-day life.
Pranayama is often combined with the practice of Yoga. In the case of our Pranayama and Meditation classes, we focus more on the various breathing techniques and only combine certain yoga poses in order to either further deepen the practice or help to ease discomfort or breathing difficulties.
Meditation is an ancient and highly efficient tool that can be used to familiarize oneself with oneself. It can help to create a sense of calm and mental peace. A regular meditation practice – even 5 minutes per day – can help to create more balance which can benefit mental wellbeing as well as physical overall health.
We draw from years of personal Pranayama and Meditation experience and have been guiding groups and individuals for many years now. We are deeply grounded in the traditional Tibetan Buddhist meditation, but we have also learned and practised secular mindfulness meditation and other common meditation techniques.
Our Mind in Motion offers a combination of Pranayama and Mediation for all kinds of different needs and wants. Furthermore, we are able to offer Pranayama and Meditation as standalone classes depending on your condition and wishes.
If you are interested in Pranayama and Meditation and require further information, we would be happy to hear from you.
